Connect Google Search Console to Claude with CalmSEO

What you need before starting
- A Google account with verified access to at least one Search Console property.
- An MCP-compatible Claude client.
- A free CalmSEO account.

Step-by-step setup
- Sign up at CalmSEO with an email. No card required on the free plan.
- In the dashboard, click Connect Google Search Console and authorize the read-only scope on Google's screen.
- Copy your CalmSEO MCP endpoint URL.
- Open your Claude client's MCP settings and add CalmSEO as an MCP server using that URL.
- Start a new conversation and ask Claude a Search Console question.
If your Google account has access to multiple properties, you can tell Claude which one to use, or set a default in the CalmSEO dashboard.
What Claude can ask Search Console
- Clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position over a time range.
- Top queries and top landing pages for any property.
- Queries that any one page is ranking for.
- Sitemap status, including last-read date and error counts.
- Comparisons between time periods.

Example prompts to try with Claude
- What are my top queries last month?
- Which pages have impressions above 1,000 and CTR below 1%?
- Compare the last 28 days with the previous 28 days. Show pages losing clicks.
- List queries where my average position is between 8 and 20.
- Find queries I get impressions for but don’t have a dedicated page for.
- Suggest five pages I should refresh this week, with the reasoning.
If something doesn't work
- Claude doesn't see the tools. Confirm CalmSEO is added to your client's MCP server list and that the endpoint URL is correct. Restart the client after adding.
- "No data" responses. Search Console reporting lags by two to three days, so very recent traffic may not show. Try a wider date range.
- Multiple properties. Set a default property in the CalmSEO dashboard, or include the property URL in your prompt.
- Wrong Google account connected. Disconnect in the dashboard and reconnect with the account that owns the property.
Privacy and read-only access
The CalmSEO Google Search Console connection is read-only. Claude can read your data through MCP, but it can't change anything in Search Console. Your Google token is stored against your CalmSEO account and is used only when an MCP tool is called. You can disconnect at any time from the dashboard.

Is CalmSEO official Claude or Anthropic software?+
No. CalmSEO is an independent MCP server. It works with Claude clients because they support the MCP standard. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Is the Search Console connection read-only?+
Yes. The OAuth scope is read-only. Claude can read your Search Console data through CalmSEO but can't write back to your account, submit URLs, or change settings.
How fresh is the data Claude sees?+
It's whatever the Search Console API returns. Google's reporting typically lags by two to three days, so the last day or two of traffic may not yet be available.
Does the GSC connection cost credits?+
No. Search Console tools are free on every plan. Credits only apply to paid third-party tools like keyword volume, SERP, ranked keywords, and page audits.
Can I connect more than one Search Console property?+
Yes. You authorize a Google account, and CalmSEO can read any property that account has access to. You can choose which property each prompt targets, or set a default in the dashboard.
What if I want to disconnect?+
Open the CalmSEO dashboard and click disconnect. The stored token is revoked and CalmSEO can no longer read Search Console data on your behalf.
